IGNORANCE KILLS
Let me educate us a little about Paracetamol. Paracetamol (acetaminophen) is an analgesic and an antipyretic. It is used for the relief of pains (mild to moderate) and to alleviate fever. The end product of Paracetamol is N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine ( NAPQI). This end product is toxic but when Paracetamol is taken in the right dose, the end product is effectively detoxified by the liver but in cases of overdose, it causes harm to the liver due to its accumulation in the liver and the liver's inability to detoxify this end product effectively. This can even lead to death as a result of liver failure.
• Stop the misuse of Paracetamol. Its a silent drug of misuse.
• Paracetamol is cheap and easily accessible but can be dangerous.
• Please take Paracetamol with caution.
• Adhere to the instructions and advice of your Pharm Tech.
